SCA annually buys external goods and services for large amounts. SCA's purchasing organization is a supporting function to other business areas within the company. The work as a buyer with us spans many different areas of expertise and is both exciting and varied. Here you get the opportunity for continuous development and even if you often work independently, you are part of a larger team.

Job duties with us

As a buyer at SCA, you contribute to the work of continuous improvements in our supply chain, where we strive to strengthen our competitiveness by constantly working with reliable suppliers, goods, services and business models. The work as a buyer spans many different areas of expertise and is exciting and varied. Examples of competence areas that are relevant in purchasing are e.g. business interest, negotiation, law, finance, technology and data analysis.

Project purchasing

SCA has invested billions from Sundsvall and the north in recent years. Current projects now are expansion Obbola, which is building the world's largest machine for the production of packaging paper in Umeå, Ortviken's CTMP expansion in Sundsvall and a new grading mill in Bollsta sawmill. In SCA's projects, our project buyers are important key people. Together with the project teams, procurement, negotiation and contract writing are carried out.

Category-based purchasing

As a category buyer within SCA, you are responsible for specific purchasing areas that span the entire group. It can be, for example, within IT, maintenance services, production materials of various kinds, etc. You work together with your category teams to optimize the supplier base, run different types of improvement projects, write agreements and optimize purchases within your categories.

Business-related purchasing

In business-related purchasing, the buyer sits close to the operational activities out at our mills and sawmills, and works closely with the staff on site to solve purchasing needs in the best possible way. Here you work broadly with many different types of purchasing categories to solve the needs that arise in the pulsating operation of the business.

As a buyer in the IT category, I get to be involved in many of SCA's operations by running and participating in projects and procurements, this entails contact with internal and external stakeholders.
